DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive is a one-component, solvent-free, light-curable material developed for rapid bonding and sealing of stress-sensitive plastics. Dymax currently lists the product as 3094-T-REV-A, while 3094-T remains the commonly referenced base model in international markets. The colorless adhesive provides strong adhesion to LCP, polycarbonate, polyurethane, polystyrene, glass, metals, and other compatible industrial substrates.
The material cures in seconds when exposed to suitable high-intensity UV or visible light. Because curing begins only when the adhesive receives the required light energy, operators can dispense and position components before initiating the process. This on-demand curing capability supports automated production, reduces lengthy clamping, and allows immediate movement to the next manufacturing stage after a validated exposure cycle.
DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive is formulated to minimize shrinkage and stress during curing. This is particularly important when bonding molded plastics, optical structures, miniature housings, and precisely aligned components that may crack, distort, move, or lose dimensional accuracy when exposed to a highly rigid or high-shrinkage adhesive.
Dymax publishes a typical viscosity of approximately 11,750 cP, giving the product enough body for controlled dots and beads while still allowing effective wetting of properly prepared surfaces. Its cured hardness is approximately Shore D65, and published selection guides list tensile strength around 14 MPa under the stated laboratory conditions. Typical linear shrinkage is approximately 0.7%.
The product is supplied as a ready-to-use, one-part formulation. No resin-to-hardener weighing, manual mixing, or pot-life management is required. This simplifies automated dispensing and reduces process variation associated with incorrect mixing ratios. Dymax also identifies its light-curable materials as solvent-free systems designed to support faster and more environmentally efficient production.
Under suitable lamp intensity, wavelength, adhesive thickness, and substrate transmission, DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive may cure in approximately three to five seconds. Actual exposure requirements must be established using the intended curing equipment, distance, component geometry, adhesive volume, and light-transmitting substrate.
DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive is well suited for camera-module assembly, lens-barrel attachment, sensor positioning, electronic housings, plastic subcomponents, optical devices, appliance parts, communication products, and other precision assemblies. Its adhesion to LCP, PC, PU, and PS makes it particularly relevant for compact electronic components manufactured from engineering plastics.
The low-stress and low-shrinkage characteristics also support alignment-sensitive applications where movement during cure can affect optical accuracy or device performance. It may be evaluated for plastic-to-plastic, plastic-to-glass, and plastic-to-metal joints when sufficient curing light can reach the complete adhesive area.
At least one substrate normally needs to transmit the wavelength used for curing. Joints containing opaque parts, deep shadow areas, heavy pigmentation, or metal-to-metal interfaces may require a modified design, an alternative Dymax product with secondary curing, or another validated assembly process.
Before dispensing DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive, ensure that the substrates are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dust, moisture, mold-release agents, and loose contamination. Confirm that any cleaning solvent does not damage, cloud, swell, or stress-crack the plastic.
Apply a controlled quantity to one bonding surface, assemble and align the parts, and expose the complete bond line to a qualified UV or visible-light curing system. Lamp wavelength, intensity, exposure time, distance, adhesive depth, and substrate transmission should be measured and standardized rather than estimated.
The adhesive remains liquid in areas that do not receive sufficient light. Production validation should therefore include inspection for shadowed material, complete surface cure, bond strength, dimensional accuracy, thermal cycling, humidity resistance, and long-term reliability.
DYMAX 3094-T UV Adhesive should remain in its original light-protective container and be protected from sunlight, UV sources, and strong artificial light.
