HumiSeal 1R32A-2 Acrylic Conformal Coating helps electronics manufacturers protect sensitive circuitry without introducing a complex multi-part mixing process. The ready-to-use material supports automated equipment and is also available in pre-blended viscosities selected for different application methods. These pre-blends can reduce preparation time because they are supplied at controlled viscosities and normally require no additional dilution before use.
The cured film provides low moisture-vapor permeability and dependable electrical insulation. It also offers a low-odor application profile compared with many traditional solvent-based coating processes. Ultraviolet fluorescence makes coating coverage easier to inspect, helping operators identify missed areas, thin sections, and inconsistent deposition before assemblies proceed to final testing or shipment.
This coating is intended for printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies used in industrial controls, power systems, communication equipment, transportation electronics, appliances, instrumentation, and other applications exposed to humidity or airborne contamination. It can be applied over appropriately cleaned assemblies and may also be compatible with boards produced using low-residue no-clean processes, subject to validation.
HumiSeal recommends testing the complete assembly before commercial use because flux residues, component materials, cleaning methods, solder masks, process temperatures, and coating thickness can influence adhesion and long-term performance. Mask connectors, test points, switches, and other areas that must remain uncoated before application.
Typical liquid properties for the standard grade include viscosity of 220 ± 30 cP, solids content of 29 ± 3%, and density of 0.91 ± 0.02 g/cm³. The published shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture when the material is stored according to HumiSeal guidance. Handle-dry time is approximately 10 minutes under the stated test method.
The recommended cured coating thickness is 25 to 75 microns. Standard curing conditions are 24 hours at room temperature or two hours at 76°C, while optimum properties develop after approximately seven days. The cured material is rated UL 94 V-0 and has a published dielectric breakdown voltage of 7,500 volts. It also passes ASTM G21 fungus-resistance testing and thermal-shock testing across -65°C to 125°C for 50 cycles.
Apply the material by dipping, conventional spraying, selective coating, or brushing, depending on production volume and assembly geometry. For dipping, a controlled immersion and withdrawal speed of 5 to 15 cm per minute helps produce a more uniform film. Monitor viscosity regularly because solvent evaporation can increase coating thickness during extended processing.
For spraying, provide effective ventilation and select the correct pre-blend, pressure, and equipment settings through production trials. Brushing is useful for localized coating, prototypes, and repair work, although film uniformity depends on operator technique. Allow the coating to cure fully before electrical testing or environmental exposure.
HumiSeal 1R32A-2 Acrylic Conformal Coating combines fast drying, improved substrate adhesion, UV inspection, electrical insulation, moisture protection, and straightforward rework capability. It complies with IPC-CC-830, REACH, RoHS Directive EU 2015/863, and China GB30981-2020, and it is recognized under UL File E105698.
