This concentrated cleaner is suitable for engines, electric motors, castings, valves, bearings, tanks, machinery, vehicles, windows, carpets, concrete floors, asphalt, and other washable industrial surfaces. It effectively removes grease, lubricants, cutting fluids, fuel oils, tar, road salt, light carbon deposits, wax, soot, mildew, food stains, and animal fats. This broad cleaning capability helps facilities reduce the number of separate products required for equipment and workplace maintenance.

LOCTITE SF 7840 Water-Based Industrial Cleaner has a typical specific gravity of approximately 1.02 at 25°C. It can be applied by spraying, wiping, soaking, pressure washing, floor scrubbing, steam cleaning, or dip-tank processing. Stronger concentrations, warm water, mechanical agitation, scrubbing, and longer contact time can improve cleaning performance when removing heavy deposits.

Recommended Dilution Levels and Applications

For heavy cleaning and degreasing in dip tanks or industrial parts washers, Henkel recommends a product-to-water ratio between 1:1 and 1:4. Medium-duty cleaning applications, including fleet maintenance, siding, concrete floors, pressure spraying, floor scrubbing, and steam cleaning, typically use dilution ratios between 1:16 and 1:32.

For light cleaning of work areas, windows, walls, woodwork, furniture, carpets, and countertops, ratios between 1:64 and 1:128 may be suitable. Users should begin with a stronger concentration and gradually increase dilution until the most economical effective cleaning level is identified.

How to Use LOCTITE SF 7840 Water-Based Industrial Cleaner

Dilute the concentrate with the required quantity of clean water. Spray, soak, wipe, or scrub the contaminated surface, allowing sufficient contact time for the cleaner to loosen the deposit. Wipe away or rinse the dissolved contamination with clean water. Repeat the process or use a stronger concentration when heavily soiled equipment requires additional cleaning power.

Test painted surfaces before widespread application because concentrations containing fewer than 20 parts water may affect some coatings. Cleaner residue may also inhibit the curing of anaerobic adhesives and sealants, so thoroughly rinse and dry components before applying threadlockers, retaining compounds, thread sealants, or flange sealants.
