LOCTITE SF 7840 Industrial Cleaner for Equipment Maintenance

This versatile cleaner removes grease, lubricants, cutting oils, fuel oils, tar, road salt, light carbon deposits, wax, soot, mildew, food stains, and animal fats. It can be used on engines, electric motors, castings, valves, bearings, storage tanks, production machinery, vehicles, concrete floors, asphalt, windows, carpets, walls, and other washable surfaces. By using one concentrated product at different dilution levels, facilities can simplify purchasing and reduce the number of cleaners stored in maintenance areas.

LOCTITE SF 7840 Industrial Cleaner can be sprayed, wiped, brushed, soaked, pressure washed, or used in suitable dip tanks and parts-washing systems. Cleaning performance can be increased through stronger concentration, warm water, mechanical agitation, scrubbing, and longer contact time. The most economical dilution should be established through application testing based on the contamination level and the surface being cleaned.

Recommended LOCTITE SF 7840 Industrial Cleaner Dilution Levels

For heavy cleaning and degreasing in dip tanks or industrial parts washers, the recommended product-to-water ratio is approximately 1:1 to 1:4. This concentration is suitable for stubborn oil, grease, cutting-fluid residue, and heavily contaminated machine components.

For medium-duty cleaning, including fleet maintenance, siding, concrete floors, pressure spraying, floor scrubbing, and steam cleaning, a dilution ratio of approximately 1:16 to 1:32 may be used. Light cleaning of work areas, windows, walls, woodwork, furniture, carpets, and countertops may use ratios from approximately 1:64 to 1:128.

How to Use LOCTITE SF 7840 Industrial Cleaner

Dilute the concentrate with clean water according to the required cleaning strength. Spray or soak the contaminated component, allow sufficient contact time, and then wipe or rinse the surface clean. Repeat the process or increase the concentration when heavy contamination remains. Painted surfaces should be tested before widespread application because stronger mixtures containing fewer than 20 parts water may affect certain coatings.

Cleaner residue may interfere with the curing of anaerobic adhesives and sealants. Components intended for use with threadlockers, retaining compounds, thread sealants, or flange sealants should therefore be rinsed thoroughly and dried completely after cleaning. Store unopened containers in a dry area, ideally between 8°C and 21°C.
