KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive is a one-component, room-temperature-curing adhesive and sealant developed for electrical, electronic, automotive, appliance, and precision industrial assemblies. Based on a silyl-terminated polymer, the transparent paste cures through atmospheric moisture and forms a flexible elastomeric bond. Its rapid skin formation and strong initial adhesion make it suitable for production processes that require fast positioning without mixing resin and hardener.
The flexible cured layer helps reduce stress when bonded materials expand, contract, vibrate, or receive impact. This is especially valuable when joining dissimilar substrates with different thermal expansion rates. The clear appearance also supports applications where the adhesive line should remain discreet, including electronic housings, transparent components, display assemblies, sensors, connectors, and compact equipment. The single-component format also reduces operator mixing errors and can support both manual dispensing and controlled automated production.
KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive combines ultra-fast surface curing with controlled paste application. Official Konishi catalog data lists a typical viscosity of 25 to 50 Pa·s at 23°C, a specific gravity of 0.95 to 1.05, and a skin-over time of approximately 0.5 to 3 minutes under standard test conditions. These properties support accurate dispensing while helping shorten waiting time during assembly.
After curing, the adhesive remains elastic rather than becoming brittle. Published typical values include Shore A hardness of approximately 42, maximum tensile stress of about 5.0 N/mm², and elongation at break of around 225%. This balance of strength and flexibility helps the bond tolerate thermal shock, repeated movement, and mechanical vibration while maintaining contact between joined components.
KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive can be used for bonding and sealing polycarbonate, ABS, selected rigid plastics, stainless steel, aluminum, other metals, and compatible industrial materials. Typical applications include fixing components on electronic circuit boards, securing coils and capacitors, bonding appliance parts, assembling automotive components, attaching housings and brackets, and sealing areas that require both adhesion and flexibility.
The product is particularly useful when initial holding strength is important or when two rigid materials have different thermal expansion coefficients. It may also be selected for joints exposed to vibration or impact. However, adhesion should always be tested on the actual production substrate because plastic grades, coatings, release agents, contamination, and joint geometry can significantly affect final performance. It is generally unsuitable for polyethylene, polypropylene, silicone resin, fluoropolymer surfaces, and other difficult-to-bond materials unless a validated surface-treatment process is available.
Before applying KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive, remove oil, dust, moisture, oxidation, release agents, and old adhesive from each surface. Dispense a controlled bead or thin layer, join the components promptly, and apply uniform pressure. Because the product cures by moisture, temperature, humidity, adhesive thickness, and joint depth influence the curing rate. Deeply filled sections require more time than exposed thin layers.
Keep the assembly correctly aligned until sufficient handling strength develops. When the adhesive is used as a filling material, allow additional time for moisture to reach the inner section and complete the cure. Avoid electrical testing, vibration testing, thermal cycling, packaging, or service loading before adequate cure. For repeat production, standardize surface preparation, bead size, open time, fixture pressure, curing environment, and inspection criteria.
Store KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive in its original sealed container under the conditions stated on the current product label and safety data sheet. Keep the nozzle clean and close the package immediately after dispensing to limit moisture exposure. Use suitable ventilation and personal protective equipment, and avoid direct skin or eye contact.
For reliable electronic and multi-material assembly, KONISHI SL210C Elastic Adhesive offers transparent appearance, rapid skin formation, tin-free formulation, and durable elastic bonding.
