LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive is a toughened, two-component methacrylate system developed for structural bonding in portable electronic devices. The low-halogen formulation creates resilient bonds between compatible plastic and metal components that must withstand vibration, impact, handling stress, and repeated movement. Typical applications include displays, top casings, structural frames, enclosures, and similar assemblies used in laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other portable equipment.
Component A is a yellow paste and Component B is a blue paste. After static mixing, the material becomes a green paste that cures rapidly at room temperature. Its two-component chemistry eliminates dependence on atmospheric moisture and allows the adhesive to cure inside enclosed structural joints. Mild heat may be used to shorten the curing cycle when the substrates and electronic components can safely tolerate the selected temperature.
LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive uses a 10:1 resin-to-hardener mixing ratio by volume. At 25°C, Component A has a typical cone-and-plate viscosity of 11,000–22,000 mPa·s, while Component B ranges from 10,000–20,000 mPa·s. This paste consistency supports controlled dispensing, precise bead placement, and effective coverage of thin electronic assembly joints without excessive flow.
The mixed adhesive provides approximately four minutes of working time on steel, aluminum, and polyethylene under Henkel’s specified test conditions. Fixture strength on grit-blasted mild steel develops in approximately 270–300 seconds. This rapid room-temperature response helps shorten assembly cycles while still providing enough time for dispensing, component placement, and initial alignment. Larger mixed quantities and higher temperatures can reduce the available working time.
The formulation is designed to comply with low-halogen requirements for structural electronic assembly. Henkel specifies no more than 900 ppm chlorine, no more than 900 ppm bromine, and no more than 1,500 ppm combined chloride and bromide content. These controlled ionic-contaminant levels make the product particularly relevant for electronics manufacturers with restricted-material specifications.
After curing, LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive has a typical Shore D hardness of 67, glass-transition temperature of approximately 87°C, tensile strength at break of around 20 N/mm², and elongation at break of approximately 167%. This combination provides a tough bond that can absorb more deformation and impact energy than a highly rigid structural adhesive.
LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive is suitable for display frames, laptop top covers, tablet housings, portable-device enclosures, structural brackets, internal supports, ferrite magnets, and selected plastic-to-metal assemblies. Published lap-shear results include approximately 14.5 N/mm² on grit-blasted mild steel, 14 N/mm² on aluminum and stainless steel, 9 N/mm² on galvanized steel, and 6.5 N/mm² on fiber-reinforced plastic.
Henkel also publishes representative block-shear adhesion to ABS, PVC, acrylic, glass, phenolic materials, polycarbonate, and ferrite magnet-to-steel assemblies. The exact result depends on the substrate grade, surface coating, joint design, bond-line thickness, dispensing accuracy, cure conditions, and environmental exposure. Production testing should therefore be completed using the actual device components.
Remove paint, oxide films, oil, dust, mold-release agents, and other contamination before applying LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive. Install the dual cartridge in a compatible 10:1 applicator, dispense a small amount to confirm that both components flow correctly, and attach the approved static mixing nozzle. Purge approximately 25–50 mm of mixed material before bonding production parts.
Apply the adhesive evenly, assemble the components promptly, and prevent movement while curing. The bond should develop full strength before exposure to service loads. Uncured excess may be removed with a compatible ketone-type solvent after confirming that the cleaner will not damage the surrounding plastics, coatings, or electronic components.
Store unopened LOCTITE AA HF8075LV Acrylic Adhesive in a dry location between 2°C and 8°C. The product is classified as flammable and should be kept away from oxidizing agents, combustible materials, heat, sparks, and ignition sources.
