LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive for Vertical Metal, Plastic, Glass and Electronic Component Bonding

Category: Brand:
LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive is a fast-setting, two-component structural adhesive developed for bonding and repairing metals, plastics, glass, ceramics, rubber, wood and masonry. Its thixotropic, non-sagging consistency helps the mixed material remain in position on vertical surfaces, edges and irregular components. After mixing, it cures at room temperature to create a translucent, rigid and machinable bond line with excellent electrical-insulation properties and resistance to numerous industrial chemicals and solvents.

LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive Benefits

LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive combines rapid processing with controlled application. Unlike flowable epoxy grades, its non-sag formula maintains bead shape and reduces runoff from vertical or overhead bonding areas. This makes it suitable for staking, fillet bonding, component fixation and repair work where the adhesive must stay exactly where it is dispensed.

The resin and hardener use a convenient 1:1 mixing ratio by volume, supporting application from a 50 ml dual cartridge and static mixing nozzle. The equivalent ratio by weight is 100 parts resin to 92 parts hardener. This balanced packaging reduces manual proportioning errors and helps operators obtain a uniform mixture for repeatable industrial assembly.

The mixed adhesive has a working life of approximately three minutes at 25°C, making it suitable for applications requiring fast component positioning and short production cycles. It becomes tack-free in approximately 3.5 minutes, while the published gel-time range is about two to six minutes. Larger quantities and higher temperatures can shorten the available working time.

Applications for LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive

LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive is recommended for component assembly, household appliances, electronics, fibre-optic equipment and general industrial repairs. Its electrically insulating cured properties make it useful for attaching, staking and protecting compatible electronic components where a rigid epoxy bond is required.

Typical substrates include steel, aluminum, stainless steel, polycarbonate, nylon, PVC, ABS, acrylic, glass, epoxy materials and wood. The non-sagging consistency is particularly useful for bonding brackets, housings, connectors, appliance parts, optical components and vertically positioned assemblies.

Because plastic formulations, coatings and surface treatments vary, manufacturers should confirm compatibility and adhesion using actual production components. Joint geometry, surface cleanliness, bond-line thickness, mixing quality and curing temperature can all affect final performance.

LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive Technical Properties

The resin is supplied as a translucent white-to-yellow paste, while the hardener is a clear, colorless-to-slightly-yellow liquid. After mixing, the material cures to a translucent-to-yellow solid. Typical resin viscosity is approximately 200,000 to 700,000 mPa·s, while hardener viscosity is approximately 20,000 to 70,000 mPa·s at 25°C.

Representative cured properties include Shore D hardness of approximately 80, tensile strength of about 10 N/mm², elongation of approximately 15% and dielectric breakdown strength of about 16 kV/mm. Typical lap-shear strength after five days at 22°C is approximately 17 N/mm² on prepared aluminum and 11 N/mm² on grit-blasted steel. Published block-shear strength on glass is approximately 27 N/mm².

These figures are typical technical values rather than guaranteed purchasing specifications. Results depend on substrate preparation, adhesive quantity, curing conditions and the selected test method.

How to Apply LOCTITE EA E-00NS Epoxy Adhesive

Remove paint, oxide films, grease, oil, dust, moisture and mold-release residue from every bonding surface. For dual-cartridge application, confirm that resin and hardener flow evenly before attaching the correct static mixing nozzle. Discard the initial material until a uniform mixture is obtained.

Apply the mixed adhesive evenly to one or both surfaces and assemble the parts within approximately three minutes. Maintain contact pressure and prevent movement during curing. Henkel recommends a bond-line thickness of approximately 0.1 to 0.2 mm for maximum shear strength.

Allow the assembly to cure for approximately 24 hours at 25°C to develop high strength. Heating up to approximately 93°C can accelerate curing after the process has been validated. Remove uncured excess with a suitable ketone-type solvent while following all relevant safety precautions.
