K-0262 fills the microscopic spaces between engaged threads and forms a tough polymer after curing. This bonded layer helps prevent rotational movement caused by vibration, repeated impact, thermal cycling, and fluctuating loads. It also seals the thread path, helping reduce leakage and limiting the entry of moisture or contaminants that can promote corrosion. The high-strength grade is intended for assemblies where permanent retention is preferred and routine disassembly is not expected.
Published product information describes K-0262 as a red, thick liquid with a specific gravity of approximately 1.05 and viscosity around 1,000 to 3,000 mPa·s. Its thixotropic behavior helps reduce dripping and migration after application. The maximum recommended filling gap is approximately 0.13 mm, while room-temperature fixture time is listed at no more than 15 minutes under reference conditions. Full cure normally develops progressively after assembly and depends on metal activity, temperature, thread clearance, and product quantity.
The product is recommended for locking and sealing metal threaded fasteners up to approximately M36. Typical uses include bolts and studs in engines, gearboxes, transmissions, pumps, compressors, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, railway assemblies, production fixtures, and heavy mechanical systems. It can also be used on compatible threaded plugs and metal fittings where resistance to vibration, leakage, and loosening is required.
Kafuter K-0262 High Strength Threadlocker is especially valuable when spring washers, lock nuts, or other mechanical locking methods do not provide sufficient resistance to repeated movement. By filling the threaded interface, the adhesive distributes load across a greater portion of the engaged threads and helps maintain clamp force. Final performance must be evaluated with the actual bolt size, metal finish, engagement length, tightening torque, operating temperature, and service fluid.
Clean all male and female threads and remove oil, grease, dust, rust, moisture, and loose contamination. Allow cleaning solvent to evaporate completely. Apply several drops around the leading male threads, leaving the first thread mostly clear to reduce excess material inside the assembly. Rotate the fastener during assembly so the adhesive spreads across the engaged area, then tighten it to the required torque before the product begins to fixture.
For blind holes, place the adhesive into the internal threads near the bottom so compressed air does not push the product out of the joint. Passive metals, plated parts, low temperatures, or larger clearances may slow curing and should be tested before production. Do not apply the product to plastic threads unless compatibility has been confirmed, because anaerobic threadlockers are designed primarily for metal assemblies and may affect some plastics.
Because K-0262 is a high-strength grade, disassembly may require localized heating and suitable hand tools. Protect nearby seals, coatings, wiring, and heat-sensitive components during removal. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use, protect it from direct sunlight and contamination, and never return dispensed adhesive to the original package.
